Dr. Danny P. Pugh is a leader in general, vascular, bariatric, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. As one of the highest volume practices in the state, Dr. Pugh has been in practice for 25 years with locations in Athens and Fairfield. He is board certified and has been director of trauma at East Texas Medical Center Athens since 1995. "It's very gratifying when you can do something that gives people a better life," says Pugh. That dedication is one of the reasons he was named to the Texas Monthly exceptional list of Super Doctors®. A lifelong Texan, he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Texas Surgical Society. He graduated with honors from Austin College in Sherman and is a graduate of UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
