Prof. Vinod K. Panchbhavi is an orthopedic surgeon who is Board-Certified with American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). He is a tenured Professor, Chief of Division of Foot & Ankle Surgery and Director of Foot and Ankle Fellowship Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Texas, USA.  

He has published over 150 manuscripts, abstracts, editorials in peer-reviewed reputed publications and written extensively in both scientific and lay media. He served as Program Chair and organized scientific conferences, moderated symposiums, and spoke at national and international level meetings. He is regularly invited as faculty at national and international courses and as Visiting Professor at renowned Universities in USA & abroad.

He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery and editorial board member on other reputed journals such as the FAI, JBJS, and CORR etc. He has a keen interest in promoting education and served as Chairman of the Post Graduate Training Committee at the national level in the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He served on other committees such as Instructional Course Committee in other organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). He served two terms as a Governor on the Board of Governors at the American College of Surgeons and continues to serve as a Councilor on the Board of Councilors – AAOS.

His special interests include minimally invasive surgical techniques, sport injuries, arthroscopy, Lisfranc injuries, osteochondral defects, diabetic foot and ankle disorders, ankle replacement and the Ilizarov method of bone deformity correction and bone transport and Minimally Invasive Foot and Surgery for Hallux Valgus and other foot and ankle procedures.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Fellow of the American Orthopedic Association (AOA), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), Fellow of American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has been elected to be the President of Texas Orthopedic Association (TOA) for the year 2025.

He is a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), Indian Orthopedic Association (IOA), Indian Foot and Ankle Society (IFAS).
