Dr. Rene I Luna is a Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a specialty board certificate in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery. Dr. Luna calls McAllen, Texas, home and established his practice in 2015. He was raised in South Texas and is delighted to care for the women and families of his community. Dr. Luna loves caring for his normal to high-risk pregnant patients and is proud to keep a Cesarean rate below the national average. Dr. Luna has a passion for minimally invasive gynecologic robotic surgery and is nationally recognized in its practice. Dr. Luna has been honored to be selected to Texas Super Doctors® the last four years, and has been recognized as a “Top Doctor in America” by Trademark and Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctor in America. When not in clinic, Dr. Luna serves as the Robotic Director at the SRC Robotic Center of Excellence–recognized DHR Health Women’s Hospital, where more than 1,000 robotic gynecological cases are treated annually, leading the South Texas area in minimally invasive surgery. There, Dr. Luna operates at a high volume and is recognized as a SRC Surgeon of Excellence in both Robotics and Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery. Dr. Luna treats all gynecological surgical problems with a 100 percent minimally invasive approach no matter the complexity, with a success and minimal complication rate in the top 1 percent in the nation. Dr. Luna qualifies as a Master Surgeon by the SRC. He is completely passionate about his work and the care he gives his patients, treating them like family.
