Mark W. Scioli, MD, Texas Tech HSC School of Medicine, 1982. Recipient of its highest honor, the Gold Headed Cane. Orthopedic Residency under Raymond Bagg, MD, El Paso, Texas. Foot and Ankle Fellowship under G.J. Sammarco, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1987. Private practice in Lubbock, Texas since 1988. Subspecialty is Foot and Ankle Reconstruction, but also performs all joint replacements, spinal reconstruction, including lumbar and cervical disc replacement, and has special expertise in 3-D printed custom orthopedic implants. He performed the world's first sternum replacement for a patient who got an infection after open heart surgery. Has been named in The Best Doctors in America every year since 1996, and Texas Super Doctors since 2004. Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 1990, Dr. Scioli has served on numerous educational committees on behalf of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has written numerous journal articles as well as chapters in textbooks of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Scioli is also actively involved with companies that develop orthopedic implants as well as technologies that serve to advance the care of patients with musculoskeletal problems.
