Julie Russak, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and founder of Russak Dermatology Clinic and Russak+ Aesthetic Center in New York City. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she has trained dermatology residents while building a clinical practice centered on the biology of aging, tissue regeneration, and skin longevity.

Dr. Russak is recognized for developing a regenerative approach to dermatology that looks beyond the surface of the skin to the metabolic, hormonal, nutritional, inflammatory, and epigenetic factors that influence how skin and hair function and age. Her Regenerative Aesthetics Program translates this systems-based view into clinical care, with a focus on preserving tissue health, resilience, and regenerative capacity over time.
Her work increasingly focuses on periods of rapid biological transition, including the metabolic changes associated with GLP-1 therapies and the hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause. She is particularly interested in how shifts in metabolism, hormones, and body composition intersect with broader markers of biological aging, including epigenetic change, and how these processes can affect skin integrity, facial structure, and hair density - as well as patients' evolving expectations of healthy aging. Her clinical philosophy is centered on supporting regeneration rather than simply replacing what has been lost.

At Russak Dermatology Clinic, treatment planning is guided by epigenetic and metabolic testing, including biological age clocks, proteomic signatures, and hormonal and micronutrient panels. Dr. Russak is a principal investigator in a longevity research collaboration with L'Oréal Research & Innovation. Her honors include the 2026 Women of Distinction Award from the New York State Assembly and recognition as one of Newsweek's America's Best Cosmetic Dermatologists. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Vogue.
