Dr. Elaine F. Kung was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to New York City when she was 6 years old. She matriculated at Stuyvesant High School, where she graduated at the top of her class. Afterwards, she majored in biology and graduated magna cum laude from Yale College. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Yale School of Medicine, where she discovered her interests in dermatology. During dermatology residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center, she won awards from the Society of Investigative Dermatology (SID), American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and World Congress of Dermatology for her tissue engineering research.

She founded Future Bright Dermatology more than 10 years ago in Lower Manhattan serving a socioeconomic and ethnically diverse population.  Besides treating dermatologic conditions, she has developed a special interest in aesthetic procedures involving neurotoxins, dermal fillers, lasers and energy-based devices, hair restoration with PRP, and thread lifts. She has been an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at NYP-Weill Cornell Medical Center for over 10 years. Dr. Kung is a lifelong learner and completed a Masters in Management from Harvard University during the pandemic. She is also pursuing a diploma in Cosmetic Science from The Society of Cosmetic Scientists.
