Dr. Donald J. Rose, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is the founding director of the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. He specializes in sports and dance injuries, as well as arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle. He is the orthopaedic consultant of numerous dance companies. Dr. Rose is a Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient of the University of Medicine and Dentistry (2002) and the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (2012). In 1977, he received the Documents of Dance Award. A clinical associate professor at NYU Medical School, Dr. Rose practices an aggressively conservative approach to orthopaedics.
